Funmi is one of the most refreshing new writers out of Nigeria. Her unique voice stands out in the midst of the familiar tropes that modern African writing bases its stories on.

We have worked with Funmi a few times: editing her first unpublished manuscript in 2018 and her second in 2020/2021. For a brief period during the pandemic, we also worked together to develop a writing platform that was aimed at providing a creative and emotionally supportive outlet to young creatives.

 

Most recently, Funmi started up an online bookstore called, "She Reads Lagos", where she shares her passion for reading with other avid readers within her home city.
